Jenna Dewan Tatum on Her ‘Boring’ Life with Channing
(We Call B.S.)She’s not fooling anyone.
It seems like Jenna Dewan Tatum has it all—an exciting career, inner and outer beauty, and, oh yeah, she’s married to your fantasy boyfriend Channing Tatum. But the dancer turned actress swears her life is actually pretty average.
“Instagram is just a highlight reel…” she tells Dibs Baer in the July/August issue of Women’s Health. “Ten percent of the time, Chan and I have a lot of fun. Ninety percent, we’re really boring.”
It may be hard to believe, but while the two do enjoy the occasional Hollywood soiree at Adam Levine’s house, she says they’re more likely found at their farm in Ojai or home in L.A. watching Netflix. (Sure, but she’s still sitting next to Channing Tatum…)
After the duo’s hilarious performances on Lip Sync Battle back in January, they were informally crowned the King and Queen of Hollywood. But according to 35-year-old Jenna, perfection at this stage in her life is overrated. “I realized that if you try to be the perfect mom, perfect wife, perfect actress, you start to feel overwhelmed,” she says. “You shut down. I got that really fast…I was running back and forth from breast-feeding to filming a scene, overextending myself on every level. I realized I have to make priorities, and my family is number one no matter what.”
That isn’t to say the actress doesn’t believe in “having it all.” Eventually, Jenna found ways to work herself into that priorities list. “You have to be fulfilled in order for everyone else to be fulfilled,” she says. “I’m a way happier, more pleasant person to be around when I take time for myself.”
